It is almost Halloween! In honor of my favorite holiday, I wanted to share something a little different.
Now that I am back in the midwest, I have been traveling around visiting friends and family. I had the chance to visit my friend Lauren in Kansas City early in October. Lauren is an incredibly talented painter, you can find her work at farlycreates.com.
While planning this trip, it occurred to us we had never collaborated on a project before. That had to change. So we started chatting and pinning ideas and came up with a slightly eerie forest shoot for Halloween. Amazingly enough, we did actually find some very kind friends who were willing to do this with us. This was not my typical session, it is more personal vision as I just love Halloween. Really, it was just fun to play dress-up as adults. Some of the shots turned out beautifully, some are a little unnerving, but we had so much fun with it! Happy Halloween!
Perfect evil queen. The apple was her idea = brilliant.
Yes, she is on-pointe. On a log. In the forest. In a tutu. So incredibly talented.Even though we were going for a spooky feel, I had to get in some softer images. Her cheekbones are incredible! Make-up courtesy of Lauren.
Playing with infrared film, but if felt a little magical.
I think Emi probably scared me the most! She was so fun and bouncing around, she really wanted to be scary.Jenny had this gorgeous vintage look, I knew I wanted the image to look vintage as well.Amanda is naturally gorgeous, so it was really fun to see her really get into this part.Incredible. Katie had a natural elegance that truly suited the character we gave her to play.
Lauren kept saying we were going for “hauntingly beautiful”. I think this last shot of Rebecca really encompasses that feel. Thank you so much to all the girls for doing this! And just in case Lauren thought she could escape behind the scenes…
